How to Get Pregnant |
Bathing Your BabyMost baby books recommend bathing your baby every two days or so. Newborn babies should only be given damp sponge baths until the umbilical cord falls out. The same applies to circumcised babies. Only sponge baths until everything is healed. The most important advice is to make sure that before bathing your baby make sure that you have everything you need together including towels and the after bath clothes. Make sure you have the phone nearby. Or be prepared to let it ring. You can NEVER NEVER leave your baby alone in the bath. Not even for one second. The water should be warm but never hot. You must test the temperature of the water before bathing your baby. The room where you are having the bath should be also be warm. Use only baby safe shampoo and soap. Baby books suggest that you watch for rashes and try a different brand of shampoo or soap if your baby reacts badly to the one your using. Finally, enjoy it! Bath time is fun and an opportunity to play and bond. Baby books often say this is perhaps the most important bonding time between mother and child. Most babies will grow to love bath time. Bathing your baby may likely become one of your favorite times too. Our bookstore contains many baby books with information on bathing your baby. You may find them to be useful.
